Must be ASI certified
Must be an RAC, CAC, or LAC
Must have a demonstrated history of compliance with local/state/federal regulations regarding client confidentiality

1. Responsible for assisting in the orderly implementation of the growth and expansion plans of the program.
2. Responsible for meeting with multi-disciplinary treatment team for client review.
3. Responsible for facilitating program goals and objectives.
4. Responsible for implementation of any changes related to treatment philosophy and/or programming structure.
5. Provide evaluation, assessment, intervention, individual and group counseling services to patients identified as having
    problems related to drug or alcohol use
6. Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and weekly mental health meetings and service as a resource for staff &
     patients on chemical dependency and its treatment.
7. Record session notes and patient follow-up in the medical record and database systems, as required

Ascension Counseling Center - Donaldsonville and Gonzales

The Parish of Ascension is accepting applications for a Counselor at Ascension Counseling Center, an outpatient counseling center in Gonzales and Donaldsonville.  The counselor is responsible for the evaluation and counseling of adolescents and their families dealing with substance abuse and mental health problems.  

Requirements

1. Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field, such as counseling, psychology or social work, from an accredited college or university;
2. Mental health and substance abuse treatment experience;
3. LCSW, LPC or LAC is required.

The position is 40 hours/week with evening groups one to two nights per week. Parish benefits include retirement; health/life/dental insurance; and paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Also pays for professional liability insurance coverage and $300 per year of CEU’s.
