Letter to the Governor

Publication Date: August 4, 2021

On Thursday, July 29, 2021, our organization was asked to write to Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards as it relates to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic and a mandatory mask mandate. A meeting of the association Executive Committee was called for 12:00 PM the following day, where a letter was then drafted. It was through compassionate dialogue and deep thought of all present in that meeting that a position in the matter was taken.  Please note, this association stance does not directly reflect the political position of any of our staff and/or members—rather, this stance was taken with the health and wellbeing of our addiction professionals and their families in mind.
